Big Numbers for Biggest Little City in Sin City Sweep
The Reno Ice Raiders continued their dominance over their Nevada rivals the Sin City Kings
after 17-1 and 12-6 wins in the weekend series presented by Goettl Air.
Hunter Sine led the way for Reno with three goals and three assists while Justis Gyori
stopped 22 of 23 shots in Friday's win. Making his Ice Raiders goaltending debut, Zack
Kellerup made 17 saves and earned one assist in Saturday's victory. Matt Robinson had four
goals and a helper to lead the Ice Raider offensive onslaught.
On Friday Reno was 1-for-1 on their only Brewer's Cabinet Power Play and 1-for-2 on
Peterson Wealth Management Penalty Kills. The two teams combined for only 26 PIMS on
seven infractions. The Ice Raiders handled the faceoffs 47-17 and outshot the Kings 64-23.
On Saturday, Reno could not convert on their three Brewer's Cabinet Power Plays but was
4-for-6 on Peterson Wealth Management Penalty Kills including three shorthanded goals.
Reno won the faceoff battle 53-23 and bombarded the Kings tenders with 57 shots.
Reno is 12-0 against the Kings and has outscored them 135-35.
The Ice Raiders continue to roll at home, now 11-1-2 and 15-4-3 overall with only six games
remaining in the regular season.
The Ice Raiders head east in two weekends to face the FDNY Hockey Team. After that the
regular season comes to a close with back-to-back home weekends. Celebrate St. Patrick's
Day weekend with the Ice Raiders and San Diego Super Hornets presented by Reno Tattoo
Removal.
When the McCall Mountaineers come to Reno to end the regular season on March
21, the Ice Raiders will pay tribute to the first ever Senior A hockey club in Reno. The Reno
Aces played in the Centennial Coliseum (now the Reno Sparks Convention Center) in the
1960s and 1970s. TNT Yard Service will present the black and gold throwback jerseys.
